Why I Only Take 2 Clients Per Month (And Why You Should Care)

The Decision That Changed Everything

About two years ago, I was juggling five projects at once. I was working 14-hour days, my response times were slipping, and honestly? The quality of my work was suffering. I was technically meeting deadlines, but I wasn't proud of what I was delivering.

Then I lost a client. Not because I did bad work, but because I simply wasn't available when they needed me. That stung more than I expected.

So I made a decision that most people thought was crazy: I'd only take on two clients at a time. Maximum.

The Math That Doesn't Make Sense (Until It Does)

Look, I get it. Fewer clients = less money, right?

Actually, no. Here's what happened:

  • My project completion rate went from 85% on time to 100%
  • Client referrals increased by roughly 40%
  • I could charge premium rates because I was delivering premium attention
  • My stress levels dropped dramatically (which made me better at problem-solving)

  • What This Means For You

When you work with me, you're not competing with five other projects for my attention. You're one of two. That means:

**Faster response times.** I typically respond to messages within a few hours, not days. When you hit a snag or have a question, you're not waiting in a queue.

**Deeper understanding.** I have the time to actually understand your business, not just your technical requirements. This leads to better solutions.

**Fewer surprises.** I'm not rushing to finish your project so I can start the next one. I can test thoroughly, anticipate edge cases, and deliver something that actually works.

**Real partnership.** I'm not a faceless agency handing you off to junior developers. You get me—the person you talked to, the person who quoted your project, the person who builds it.

    The Waiting List Reality

Yes, this means there's sometimes a wait. Right now, I'm typically booked 4-6 weeks out. I know that's not ideal if you need something built yesterday.

But here's my honest take: if your project is so urgent that you can't wait a few weeks, you probably need to think about whether rushing it is really the best approach anyway. I've seen too many businesses launch half-baked websites because they were in a hurry, only to spend twice as much fixing them later.

Is This Approach Right For Everyone?

No. If you need someone to churn out a basic template site in 48 hours, I'm not your guy. If you're looking for the cheapest option available, I'm definitely not your guy.

But if you want someone who'll actually care about your project, who'll be available when you need them, and who'll deliver something you can be proud of? Then let's talk.

I've got two spots. Let's see if one of them should be yours.
